CDC Sedge / Caddis

This fly is tied to imitate the Adult Sedge or Caddis.  The CDC gives the fly a natural profile and provides movement at the thorax.  A small orange tag acts as a trigger and mimics the egg laying stage of the fly.

The Caddis  (Tricoptera) is an important species to fly fisherman and although there are many different species most are similar in appearance varying only in size and colour.    They have a roof-winged profile and long antennae making them easily identified.

They can emerge both during the day and at dusk, often taking time to get airborne, skating across the surface and attracting the attention of fish. CDC Caddis / Sedge (Orange Tag) no fish can resist!
