The Waterhen Bloa is one of the most recognisable of all the North Country flies. It is a simple but effective imitation of the early season Large Dark Olive. Although, when dressed in smaller sizes it covers a host of other olive species found on the river throughout the season.
I'm not sure where I came across this pattern but I believe it originated from the Czech Republic. It might look very simple but it works well.
